ROTOMATION offers a fully automated CNC machine without cumbersome robots or handling systems, without a separate control unit, and without additional safety enclosures or door automation. When combined with a suitable CNC rotary table, a simple vertical machining centre is transformed into a semi-autonomous production system. Untended machine operation for up to several days is possible, depending on the range of parts.

Advantages

It already sounds almost utopian:

– 24/7 with simple indoor automation for small parts

– programmed directly on the machine's CNC control, no separate control needed

– no bulky handling systems or robots

– no safety barriers or automatically operated cabin doors from a safety perspective

– CNC program templates and PLC templates included

– Blanks and finished parts protected from chips and coolant

– 6-sided machining possible, thanks to integrated workpiece actuator

Disadvantages

Depending on the parts range and component size:

– Partial spectrum restricted

– Rethinking the production process

– The CAM system or post-processor must be adapted accordingly, if possible at all

– Integrators and automation companies prefer to sell more expensive solutions because the thinking work must be done the same way with ROTOMATION

– Bloss: Is that always in the end customer's interest?

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this automation also be supplied for larger parts?

Answer: Currently, it is only intended for workpieces up to approx. 60x60x60mm.

How long do I need for setup and dismantling if, for example, I want to operate during the day with no automation and only with automation at night?

Answer: The setup and dismantling are quick and safe thanks to zero-point technology, taking approximately 20–30 minutes. In addition, the automation can be pre-loaded outside the machine with the new blanks.
